Default Crash Courses ....

I am going to try get my car licence at the end of the month with my birthday money.
I have been thinking about doing one of these 5 day crash courses so its over and done within a week or so, instead of doing lessons over a several months.

Has anyone on here had any experience with these kind of courses and if so any feedback would be appreciated.

I am based in Manchester so if anyone knows of a good school around here would be helpful .

Cheers
Ant.

Friend did the one in Blackpool, he said it was lots of standing around a very production line feel to it but he passed which I guess is the main thing.

the main thing is can you actually drive a car, not to be funny but i could drive a car very well before i took lessons ,it makes thing so much faster, its the basics you need before you start clutch control ,bite point parking etc

if you ride a bike then i reckon your should be able to do it as you will have good road sense already. driving the car is the easy bit, its avoiding the nobs on the road thats the challenge.

Yeah been on the road on bikes for 5 years, so avoiding the nobs comes naturally.

I have drove my dads car on a large car park at night ... and was ok with the clutch and stuff... so i think i will pick it up well.

Disagree. Even a small car is damn big really, and getting used to the size and the slowness (as compared to a bike) takes a while - eg in judging how much room you have to get through. Also the feel of the controls is totally different.

Can you already drive a car? I could and did 5 lessons before my test. If you can already drive I would save your self some money and just get a few normal lessons it wont take you many so you shouldnt be learning more than a month or so.
