Question Rear suspension preload - help please.

Hi guys

Just wondering if there is anywhere that i can get like a table that i can read across values to see what preload i can put on for different situations. i.e. for carrying a pillion for a long way or on a journey with lots of luggage. Its hard for me to measure the amount the suspension compresses when i sit on it and all that apart from the fact that i dont really know how!

anyway, i have a curvy SV650s 1999, and weigh about 105kg if that helps

cheers

So you weigh about 16 stone. That in itself I would reccomend putting the preload on MAX which it 7 I believe.
I weigh 13 stone and used to have mine set up on max and still found it not enough and then had to carry a pillion occasionally.

That's when I put a zx10r shock on.

Seriously just stick it on max and think about upgrading in the future.

If you are lucky. I'd budget a wee bit more just to be sure.
