Remus Exhaust Fitting wth pics!

Hi all.

Just thought I would post some pics of my sv's transformation from stock to Remus can.




After measuring distance from top securing bolt to end of new exhaust (12in for the record) it was time to mark the stock exhaust and get out the grinder. We used a piece of masking tape to mark the cut and to stop the grinder slipping. Also worth unbolting footpeg and moving it to a safe distance!




The grinder cut through the stainless steel stock exhaust with relative ease, but we came unstuck towards the end as the circumference of the grinder disc would not allow for cutting all the way through the exhaust, something to bear in mind. Stainless steel is NOT the easiest material to try and hacksaw!




The new exhaust then slipped on the end. It was a VERY tight fit and it looked like it wouldn't go on at first, but with a bit of persuasion it fit into place snugly. Then it was a case of twisting it into the right position, tightening everything back up and away you go!

I cannot convey through words just how much better this sounds than the stock exhaust. Suffice to say one of the neighbours from over the way came over because he thought I had bought a Ducati for christmas!!

This was actually a relatively straighforward operation. I don't have a mechanical bone in my body and without the help of my good friend 'Old Yella' I would have not liked to have attempted slicing through my stock exhaust. But fitting the new one really was a breeze!

Thanks to my mate Geoff for his help in this operation and I hope this post helps anyone else thinking of changing exhausts.

Nice one, the Remus cans do sound nice on an SV.

Have you taken the baffle out yet ? sound even better still but are very loud !
Mine runs a bit lumpy at the bottom end with the baffle out too.

I may be wrong but I don't think the GP has a removeable baffle?

TBH it sounds the ******** as it is and looks like a stock from the rear with the baffle end in
