Re: Headstock stand or Abba add-on?
When I went to the garage and pushed down on my SV to see how much force it takes to raise the front, I was amazed how hard it was - all my weight on the pillion seat. I can't see it being one handed unless I am doing something wrong?

Re: Headstock stand or Abba add-on?
With the rear up and that strap in place. It's a case of putting your foot on the swingarm. Push down with foot whilst taking slack out with strap. One foot one hand. Simples. Takes more effort pulling back to get the rear off the floor.

Re: Headstock stand or Abba add-on?
I have no problem leaning on the back end and pulling the strap tight, but I am a heavier fellow.

Re: Headstock stand or Abba add-on?
dont have a curvy so horn is not in same place also i swapped out the squeaky oem for twin tone snail.
as said earlier just take horn off, 2 seconds. unless your planning on taking the bottom yoke off then a headstock stand is much easier to use. mudguard bolts.. dont fek about get good hex sockets and whack them with an impact. hand impacts are a must, i have had one since i was a teen and its saved me more times than i care to mention (till i got air tools). use 3/8'' tools not 1/2'' as 1/2'' are way to heavy for bike use so you end up stripping bolts/nuts. ok so most impact only come in 1/2'' but you just get a reducer socket. |

Re: Headstock stand or Abba add-on?
I have a headstock stand but only used it when doing my first front end swap, which was before i had an Abba stand.
The 2nd time, i used my abba stand and a car jack under the sump, with a piece of wood for protection and spread the load. Works even if the bike has lowers. It just tips the bike up around the abba stand pivot point. I just found the headstock stand a complete pita to store in a small garage, for the amount of use i got out of it. I've got the abba front lift now, but haven't used it yet.
