Not being funny but have you checked the cam chain tensioners before you break the bike

Hi, tried to the 2nd gear roll back thing, to no avail, I assume you r,oll it back with the clutch out

Will make one last attempt at adjusting it...

What kind of sound does it make when they fail, this kicks in around 2.5k upwards and sounds like it's going to fall into peices

It's a rattling noise my front one failed and had to be replace a common fail with the CURVEY I would definitely check that first especially with the low mileage on your bike!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

Does it sound like a bag of marbles inside the engine, how much was it to fix, my bike was a litre of oil down and I thought that might have caused failure

If it's not the tensor (but it could well be, search 'tensor' and you'll find methodology), whey not buy a engine from somewhere, i got one from the local scrappy for £250, not that hard to put it in, just do the opposite of taking the old one out

Matey, you've been a big help, I told my mate and he's gonna come round to check, are the manual adjusters any good.

remove air box, remove carbs, put the front cylinder in TDC remove 2 bolts and out with the old tensor, unseize or replace it, new gaskets (about £2) and replace every thing in the reverse order

were the plugs gold plated

I was gonna just buy an engine, but I was thinking about trading up anyway, so the less money I have to spend the better. I'll try the tensioner and go from there.

Cheers
