Extras BBC2
Right you 'orrible lot, i'm curious as to what you lot think of this second series that finished last night.
Ive read a few things that have really rubbished this programe and i just wondered what the real world thinks of it. Presuming you lot out there in cyberland are real to some degree i'd value your opinions. Idiot proof poll included and everything Oh and i'm not telling you what i think cos i dont want to sway your views in any way. Now get voting will ya!

I've had to go for option 3 seeing as I've not ever seen the programme in question and in fact haven't actually heard of it... I know nothing about it whatsoever...

very good.
series one way better than series two tho, my opinion is merchant and gervais went for too many obvious jokes, series one was much more subtle. he used the star guests too much this series also |

Series 2 seems to work on a crescendo type priniciple. The whole episode seems a build up to one very amusing/cringe inducingly embarressing moment. Unfortunately, whilst the first series also pulled this trick, I found the "build up" bit more funny. On series 2 the first 10 minutes are often a bit weak.
Still well worth watching, but not as good as 1 IMO. |

It was ok until he introduced the oh-so-ironic catchphrase - it wasn't funny and yet half of the subsequent jokes in the series came right off the back of it.
Not my cup of tea at all. Shame really cos I loved The Office & Ricky's stand-up stuff. |

Thnaks for the opinions peeps.
I for one prefer this series than the first tbh. I find the comedy so subtle that you either get it or you dont, really. I think the reason he's making use of the big names is beacuse he's very popular in the you-essay and all the big nobs wanna be on it. I was pretty gutted when i heard last night was the last one for this series too Saying that, i never liked the office one little bit. Oh and i never knew Ping had a big hairy behind neither

I liked the first series because he was a nobody and it just seemed to work better. I think by making him a celebrity in the second series the show lost something. It was still a good watch though. Gervais is a funny fella, no doubt about it.
