One thing most Motorcycle riders never do is adjust the Handlebars to suit their build.

As soon as I got my SV I slacked off the bars and sat on the bike with my riding gear on and then moved the bars until I found the,"Sweet-Spot" for my build/arms length etc.

I have to set up my Motorcycles exact because of shoulder and neck problems caused by industrial injury and age wear and tear otherwise I cannot go far without pain.

It's amazing how much even a millimeter adjustment can make to riding comfort over lots of miles once set right.I can now go over 200 miles in a day easily without fatigue
Was the first thing I did, too.

(I don't which one Geoff used) I wonder why the SV cable is more expensive.
Yup. Any way to make a few extra bucks out of us..

Spoke to SW Motech this morning. The only product they authorise for use on the L7 is a straight 20mm riser. No bar back and that's due to the cables. Obviously, with new cables you can fit whatever you like but I'd rather not go through the rigmarole of changing cables at the moment so I'm going to try the 20mm riser and see if that does enough. I don't need much of an adjustment so hopefully it will do the trick. We'll find out tomorrow and I'll update the thread.

And why when I decided to replace my Spark plug caps I went with some Straight Race-Type NGK Plug caps

OK, the SW Motech 20mms installed beautifully with zero problems with the cables and they've given the exact position I wanted. Amazing how much difference that 20mm makes.

Yes, that's probably why. I'm glad I tried these as I now know that the bar back versions would have moved me back on the bike and completely thrown off my riding position. These just pop my back straight and put a small amount of bend in my arm which alleviates any stress to frame or arms. Brilliant!

you should always ride with your arms bent at your elbows even if it means leaning forward slightly. the closer you can get your forearms to horizontal the better it is for your wrists and riding.
