Ok, I am off work for a week at the end of the month & am thinking of getting away from the same old, same old, on my own
I am looking at a few days in the Lakes, so can take in some nice roads, or just chill in my tent if I dont want to ride. Can anybody recommend any cheap camp sites in and around the Lakes. I don't want clubs etc as i dont really drink, just a field with clean showers & toilets really. I haven't been away on my own, I have always had the kids with me, so it is going to be something quite a bit different, just hope I can see it through.

That was a nice campsite when I stopped at it last and it wasn't that long ago power showers and a decent little shop on it as well. http://www.fishergroundcampsite.co.uk/ thats a nice campsite as well but no shop IIRC. There both in a nice place, fairly close to hardknott pass if that interests you. |

Have a look at this one
http://www.parkcliffe.co.uk/ Me and the missus stoped there earlier this year. The staff were very friendly and helpfull. There is a small shop for milk, matches, gas refiles etc and there is a pub ![]() ![]() HTH. Happy camping |

Have a look for 'The Quiet Site' just above Ullswater.
It's nice and quiet (oddly enough), pretty, with good facilities including a nice cosy bar with a big log fire and a decent shop. |

+1 for this - spent one of my best Lakes holidays on this campsite a few years back.

Thanks people, I'm going to see what the weather is up to mid week, then go & take in some lovely scenery before making my way to Anglesey on Friday to watch Flymo & a couple of mates racing
