my dad owns a vauxhall meriva

have you ever drove one of those things? the door pillars are not biker friendly, you could defo hide a bike behind them or evan a small car!
this was in MCN a few week ago.

That is scary...

I generally ride out in the crown of a road and try to establish eye contact with the driver of a car waiting to emerge. But then you can get too close to vehicles waiting to turn right across your path. I've never really known whether it's safer to maintain speed or to slow down - it you maintain speed you could get badly hurt if a vehicle pulls out, if you slow down it might give the wrong message.

Views on this, and on how to approach a junction where you have priority?
