Default A total drag! n I don't know why

Hi

I own a w-reg SV650 and have recently been experiencing what I would call engine "dragging". Oddly occurs at around 4000 revs and at a constant speed of about 35mph. The power suddenly dips, but clears as soon as I open the throttle more.

Whats strange is that it occurs more when I am cornering. Not pleasant!

Now, I had it go through a phase of it a few months ago, straight after having the choke cable removed and lubed. so I loosened the choke cable in case it was too tight. This didn't make any difference.

So I then tried fuel cleaner and high octane fuel in case it was carb icing (in the summer?!). This seemed to rectify the problem after about a week of using it. But it has come back again.

Has anyone else ever experienced this?? Or does anyone have any suggestions of other things to try?

Did you lube the choke plungers as well,as they tend to stick?
Also, does it need a general service, looking at things like carb balance throttle cable slack and plug change?

Hmm, without riding it its hard to acertain what you would classify as drag. The SV does have a dip in power around the 4000Rpm mark for emissions etc, it may just be that you are in this dip. Just drop a gear is all i would say to bring the revs up. Thers could be other reasons for this as well, but its just one of the possibilites.

Id also check out carb balance, also could be a plug(s).
