Maplins heated waistcoat and gloves - anyone tried them?

Not sure that I would want to use the gloves in case of a crash - I think the batteries are stored in a pocket on the back of the hand - could do some serious damage if you come off.

Saw the gloves in Maplin the other day....forget em if you value your hands as they will tear apart soon as u come off

Yeah gloves seemed like a waste of money, but the waistcoat could work under a proper jacket I think.
