Re: The Single malt appreciation thread.
Very much enjoyed a glass (or two) of Glengoyne 15 y/o given to me for Christmas by the Old Lady's dad. He apologised it wasn't the 17 y/o (being the type of man he is) as they've stoppped making it.
No apology necessary, it's superb. |

Re: The Single malt appreciation thread.
Pittyvaich is/was, without a doubt, the best whisky I've ever tried. My friends and I get together every couple of months with a bottle each (minimum of 6). Bruicladdich X4 is the worst, but to be expected as it's raw spirit and what real whisky was before it was an enterprise.

Managed to get a bottle of this and it is amazing. Unfortunately there's not much of it left... place I got it from has now run-out.

Re: The Single malt appreciation thread.
I got a very good haul for my 50th, a nice Springbank 18yo, Jura Superstition and Diurachs Own, Dalmore 12yo and Laphroig 10yo
I have not opened most of them yet, as I have a Glenlivet, Port Askaig and Coal ila 15yo on the go. |

Re: The Single malt appreciation thread.
Just after some advice..... As a leaving present for a male colleague who particularly likes Glenfiddich Blue Pete has come up trumps at really short notice and i`ve bought one of his beautiful Glenfiddich fountain pens. There`ll be about £30 left out of the money so could anyone tell me which out of the Glenfiddichs would be the nicest for that price range?

Re: The Single malt appreciation thread.
15 yr old is what I'd go with in your position.

Re: The Single malt appreciation thread.
Probably finished in another cask or something to give a different flavour and finish. If he likes the standard I'd get him the oldest standard for the money you have and give him the flavour he likes.
