Default Backpacks for riding?

I want to start commuting to work on the bike.

Can anyone recommend a cheap back pack that is a suitable size for taking items to work.

And if you can buy it online then that would be even better?

Needs to beable to hold my lunch, a pair of shoes and my work folder at the very lest.

Demon Tweeks and Busters have a good choice but they dont say sizes etc.

So any recommendations would be appreciated.

Don't strap stuff to yourself, at some point you'll be tempted to put something solid in it, I wouldn't want that on my back if the worst happend, get a Baglux, it'll take a laptop and alot more, and doesn't affect the bike at all.

Cheers Mark.

hmmm i hadnt thought of it like that, although most of my commuting will be at 15 - 20mph filtering.

Journey is 15 miles and takes me 1 hr 30 minutes in my car.... it takes my partners dad 30 minutes to do the same journey as he works 2 minutes down the road. One of the main reasons for getting the bike to be fair.

I will look at these tank bags though as a thought. Although despite the risk a back pack for me would be more appealing.

I prefer a courier type ruck sack. you can buy em in jjb sports. they've only got one big strap across your chest, which is a hell of a lot less restrictive than the usual two strap variety.

I use a backpack & I only usually have my gym kit in it - if I had to put something solid in i.e. a bottle of wine I'd put it at the v.front i.e. furthest away from my spine as possible!

I feel I can get away with this recklessness(!!) as I have a forcefield back protector!

Also got a cargo net.

Knox aero for me (£30)
I do watch what I put in it & have hard back protector.

Any rucksack you go for you want the weight as low as poss. totally different from a walking one.

I have seen the knox aero....is it quite a big backpack then as its hard to tell in the pictures, also the pictures dont show clearly whether there is a waist type strap so it doesnt flap all over the place?
