Who at the BBC authorised this?

I get irritated enough about movies being remade, but WTF.

As a licence payer I'd like to see new programs being commissioned, and from the trailer not a very badly made rehash of a timeless classic.

Why didn't they just get the tapes out of the vault and rerun the originals, like the do for Dad's Army?
Uuuughhhh, Dad's Army wasn't funny the first time, nor the 597,000th time that it must be up to on repeats now. Maybe they could do re-runs of ‘Love Thy Neighbour’, ‘It Ain’t Half Hot Mum’ and ‘Mind Your Language’ too?

How on earth would they get ‘It Ain’t Half Hot Mum’ past the PC Police?

Las Vegas mass shooting. People dying in Puerto Rico.
NFL protests and increased political and racial tensions.
North Korea talks halted.
Living in America at this moment feels like being on an airliner thats gone into a nose dive snd finding out the pilot doesn't know how to fly the plane.
We wait for our dictator in chief to spew out more hate and blame on the mass shooting in Vegas.
Obviously this will be an excuse to sell thousands of more guns to Trumps supporters.
Right now all I can think of is that I wish I had a parachute.
It's time to jump ship before the whole thing crashes to the ground in utter chaos.
Thoughts and prayers for the dead and dying.

Default Gripe of the day - What is yours?

You are not alone Bill

We have a government that is a poor imitation of a 70s comedy (Yes, Minister). When we ask what Brexit means they say "it means Brexit." When asked when the next round of negotiations start they say "at some point." When an MP is asked to describe an advantage of leaving Europe they say "you'll be able to charge more for pigs ears."

I'm feeling utterly exhausted. I went to an awards lunch yesterday, didn't drink much, came home and went to bed at 7.30pm when most of the attendees were still out having fun. Slept till 5.30am and have spent the whole day still feeling rubbish. It isn't a cold but it feels like the virus that rears it's ugly head whenever I've been working very long hours. And I've found a lump so that'll require a trip to the doc to be poked and prodded just to check it's benign. Sigh.

Ended up hitting giving the calipers a good tap with a persuasion device while mounted then getting a good spray of cleaner inside the boots. All cleaned/degreased - regreased and reassembled now
