You should never keep insurance running on a vehicle you have sold. Technically any subsequent claim can come back to you.

Cost me £98 to cancel mine with Devitt 😕

Good point, although in previous occasions I've had a portion of the premium refunded. Obviously insurance companies have decided to make money from cancellations, when trying to offer policies at the lowest price. Clawing back a bit here and there.

However when I changed cars, my premium was reduced and I got a bit back

I was going to say something similar - there have been a load of stories about it like this one:

https://www.whitedalton.co.uk/motorb...-my-insurance/

It makes it much more likely I'll part-ex rather than selling privately because of this.

Have read similar horror stories too. As long as you promptly cancel the policy you should be OK though I would have thought.

Young mother giving me death stares in my local supermarket the other day because I wasn't wearing a useless face mask like she was.

I'd loved to have pointed out that hers wasn't being worn correctly as it wasn't covering her nose! Wear one if you will but don't be a mask Nazi

I got shouted at today for daring to walk into my local Co-Op store. Some pimply 12 year old yelled at me to get out several times, pointing at a child's easel half hidden behind the door with about a dozen overlapping signs on A5 paper with 8-point font. Still don't know what any of it said. Apparently I should have also used my x-ray eyes to realise there was already 5 people in the store, although by the time I left I had counted at least eight of us...

They had no sugar and the same imbecile walked right up beside me twice to reach past me for something. Both times I said "really?" and both time he looked at me blankly before going "oh yeah" while just standing there. I despair about the human race sometime, on so many levels!!!

The amount of keyboard warriors and self appointed authorities that seem to have permeated every aspect of what were, until recently, friendly useful FB groups / forums etc..

That and finally back out of the house back to work. The last few days working at the shop have been stressful to say the least. Trying to function and work second guessing everything you've touched / cleaned and the constraints now put upon us, with the onslaught of impatient customers who have urgent bikes needing to be repaired that have previously been rotting in sheds for several years. If it wasn't for the desperate need for the money and the few properly necessary repairs to nurses bikes we're doing then I definitely wouldn't be there. The ability to apply for financial help in a couple of months as a self employed mechanic doesn't really help me either. 80 percent of the last 3 years of business losses means I'm likely enititled to zilch. I have to keep working and really don't want to be around people and the bikes we're being handed.

Thoroughly depressing trip to try and get some food in for the family this afternoon too. Queued through a car park for half an hour to eventually get allowed inside and find they didn't have half the stuff we needed. Couldn't bring myself to go to another supermarket and queue again. Came home without half the essentials.

Hoping to find something to add to the smile thread later. Feeling pretty down and frustrated all round.

The trick is to go just before they close. Everyone has buggered off and the shelf stackers have started
