I have a new shape hornet.

I've had an SV sport. You wont be disappointed!!

Brakes and Handling are very very good.

Motor is still tight so not thrashing its nuts off yet. But it feels great. Very light and tax is cheaper.

Someone on here was selling a thundercat cheap.
Or as mentioned before, get a big trailie as they tend to stand up to a fair bit of abuse and are great for town and commuting.

Believe it or not, if you're in town/city, a mid sized trailie like like an XT600 makes a great commuting machine: thin for filtering, torquey for traffic light grand prix, high-ish seat for good visibility, and they are a bit more damage resistant in minor scrapes than many others. Sadly less good for top speed antics on a sunday blast, but perhaps worth considering short term 'til your 33bhp time ends?

Alternatively, as mentioned by another, think about about older 600s e.g. early CBRs, FZR600, Thundercat, GPZ/GPX600. Or, less cool perhaps, the XJ600 or later Diversion are reasonable machines. If you buy carefully you can get a lot of bike for your money.
Cheers I will have a look at the Bigger enduros but still want something that i can go out on at weekends really.

big trailies are good if you need to haul people and stuff over long distances but smaller wheels and light weight are always fun. SV's are really great bikes so if you had one and you liked it just look for a new one.

hindle the dorsoduro is comes into both fun on rough roads, will do the commute easily and so much fun on saturday/sunday morning to teach the weekend warriors a lesson in speed, but you cant afford that or the insurance.
if in doubt try falcon bikes they will insure you on anything, or so they used to claim

Did your insurance company not cancel your policy when they wrote your SV off ?

Mine did when my car was written off. Even though I had paid in full up front.

nope they are just waiting for me to transfer the policy onto a new bike, anything that's more powerful or higher insurance group then the sv they just say the underwrites wont insurance me and they will have to do a brand new quote on a new policy.
