I wasn't surprised about the case, but the fogged out lens I was. Also the auto-cokking mechanism isn't entirely connected, should hopefully be an easy fix. The shutter seems fine, not measured it but the 1 second runs fine and smooth. Need to email the seller later and see what he has to say. I guess worst case ebay would sort out a refund as it's not fully working and was sold that way. I think he's just started his ebay shop though so I don't want to dump on him too much. This is exactly what happened with the first rangefinder I bought, a Zeiss Contessamat from Etsy, the seller was oblivious to the fungus that ruined the pictures and the sticky shutter and aperture.

Do you think you can clear the fogging? You seem pretty adept at stripping things down. Thats five boxes of slides down.

The A1 has turned up. Condition is really good. Hardly any wear. Alas no battery installed so can't test fully yet. The only issue is the state of the foam seals, they've gone sticky and are crumbling. Of particular concern is the foam damper for the mirror.

You can get kits or I just cut pieces myself from black 2mm foam from Hobbycraft. The same thing happens with old Pentaxes
