Cool I've joined the off the clock club

Well my speedo curvies speedo has decided to go wrong.

I've had the front tyre changed today and the ride home has come up with an interesting fault. Also tyre 1- fender extender 0

Had the lights on main beam and the speedo was averaging between 80 and bent on the stop pin. Pulled over and revved the motor and it was jumping of in own accord. Knocked the lights off or to the little running light and it was fine.

I know its a loose connection but really need to know where the connection is loose on the loom.

Thanks in advance
Andy

If the front wheel has been off could it be the speedo sensor/rotor got damaged?

havent had a look yet, buts gt the hall marks of electrical.
If it is the sensor the fitters paying for it as the rotor was spotless and issue free in march

I cant think of anything else, apart from hamfistedness maybe follow the wire up to the connector block and give it a check/clean.

Check the cable as it passes by the lockstops - seen the very same thing more than once.

It may not be there precisely that the cable is damaged - but that's the first place I'd look.

looks like a dirty contact behind the headstock.
Good thing i've had the tank off as one of the clamps on the airbox rubbers was mainly oxidized metal. Explains the temprimental idle

This time its any time the load/ resistance is increased on the electrics the speedo goes nuts.

Am I looking at a Reg/Rec or a short behind the dash
