getting new bike tomorrow
since i cant afford the sv650 insurance , i gotta downgrade with a bit of cash on top of my bike
test drove a honda vt 600 shadow , (felt like easy rider , was quite slow but enjoy it) {shook the bloody knees off me}!!!! kawasaki er-5, didnt expect much from this one was thoughourly surprised!!!!!!!!!!!! VERY fun bike , i came back with a smile on my face ear to ear , very comfy , no were near as powerfull as the sv650 but after 6000 revs theirs a nice little kick , quite a light bike , great fun round the backroads so getting a2006 er-5 with 5000 miles and 500£ ontop of my sv , paying myy years insurance with 240£ on top for some mods ! er-5 comes with a 2xhelment back box too , few hundred pounds extra free |

Fun is what counts mate. Enjoy.
I take it insurance over there is still through the roof? I had a mate that lived there and he was paying silly money for car insurance, as the insurance brokers over there seemed to have a monopoly over the market. Hence why all the insurance adverts say "Not available in Northern Ireland" at the end. Bar Stewards. |

Re: getting new bike tomorrow
I got an ER5 for my son, fairly bomb proof engine and big enough to shoot up and down the motorway all day if needed, cheap to run to (he's a student).
Cheers Mark.

Re: getting new bike tomorrow
Shame you have to downgrade from the SV. I'm not sure I could unless push came to shove. A 500 twin is enough of a drop IMO. I used to have a GS500 and unresricted they are still ok and can give you a decent enough ride for the most part, unless you have long legs!
Have fun, that's what it's about and it sounds ike you will. |

Oh I don't know, a lot to be had for making the most of what you've got, you can use something less powerful at the max more of the time.
