looks like a van de graph generator ..
and them globe things u get with the bolts of elec inside- somewhat more than 240 volts me thinks !! someone be be along in a min to tell me its the amps wots kills ya or summat !!

Cool pic's.. my wife was taking some pic's of a storm in France a few years ago which was a nightmare with the camera lag, but did manage this one.
 Reminds me a bit of the Aliens invading in ID |
