Default Gsxr shock

Hi people, which model gsxr shock is the best to fit to a 2002 curvy, and is it a straight swap ?

Don't mean to hijack this thread...but I am in the process of replacing the stock shock on my 2004 SV650s pointy with that from an 06 zx10r. I am having the issue that the bottom fork of the shock seems to be too wide, there is about 5mm of free play between the shock fork and the dog bone. Is this normal? I don't want to strain the shock too much when I am tightening the bottom bolt. Should I put washers between the dog bone and the shock?

I would if I were you.

Fatget, look for shocks with the same spring weight - the GSXRs mainly had a different linkage ratio to use softer springs than the SV, so the ZX6 etc. were more suitable.

Thanks guys, I'd forgotten about this thread...
I have been warned away from zx10 shocks as they are supposedly a bit too harsh for the SV, right, or wrong ?
I thought I had a nice curvy lined up but the deal fell through, so still looking....
