So this is my newly acquired SV that i have put less than 20klm's on and have started modifying it already.

I just can't seem to help myself.

The BST wheel is a CBR600 spec that had been adapted to an RS250 Aprilia.
I am glad to find that it is narrow enough in the hub area to be able to be made to fit.
It has a near new 170 section tyre on it and the plan is to use the RS twin piston Brembo off the RS aswell.
I will have to make a caliper hanger aswell as some captive wheel spacers to make it all work.
I'm going to hang the caliper below and use a torque rod as per OEM to keep the period look of the 90's early 2000 era bikes that the SV is from.
Sort of a general theme i want to keep with all the mods i plan in general.

The front end is a bit more complicated.

I originally looked at the USD fork transplant as I have an 2007 R6 front end I could have pilfered from another bike. I decided against this as i want to keep the bike as original as possible and because the nice radial brakes and USD forks will just make the rest of the bike look dated IMO.
I also want to make the suspension and brake upgrades as subtle as possible aswell.

I then looked at cartridge emulators but came across the the relatively easy transplant of Honda 41mm fork cartridges out of a VTR1000f. I've gone this route as i want something a little better (debatable) but more so something i can play around with and learn a bit as I go
as i have limited experience tuning suspension.

So after i purchased the VTR forks i looked at using the complete fork assembly, going as far as machining wheel spacers to use the original SV wheel.
But after a think about it, the idea of making brackets to adapt the original front guard to the Honda forks and caliper spacers as the VTR fork centers (triple clamp spacing) are narrower than the SV i decided to start again.

I then slid the SV forks back in and thought i would slip the RS wheel and discs in and have another look.
I'm trying to avoid using caliper adapter brackets but it looked inevitable.

One idea i have toyed with is going to a single disc for the simplicity of it all and of course the benefits of reduced gyroscopic inertia and unsprung weight. I foolishly assumed the RS had 320mm rotors for some reason and now am kicking myself for not checking.
I can make two brackets but that doubles the work load to complete a running front end again and time poor i am with my current job.

I bought a set of F4, CBR Nissin calipers as well which im going to use whether it ends up a single or twin disc setup.

Th RS wheel has had some wheel spacers turned up to fit and are captive in the bearings which is so easy to do when the RS runs bigger bearings than the 17mm axel of the SV.

Anyway that's as far as i got before i had to go away for work again.

Hope you all like the pics and all comments welcome.
