Default Bleed nipples

Has anyone found somewhere selling Ti or stainless bleed nipples that fit the front caliper of a pointy?

I've bought a couple that all claim to fit and while the thread size and pitch is correct they're always too long.

The picture shows my problem, shorter ones are what's fitted now and came with the calipers longer ones are what everywhere seems to claim are Suzuki m7 bleed nipples.

Will these do?

http://www.wemoto.com/bikes/suzuki/s...ainless_steel/

You can do a Wemoto by your model(I bookmark my bikes/models).Suggest you have a look around and buy a couple of things to use the postage cost.

I've used Wemoto(World's End Motorcycles<grin>) for years.Great company/service.

Tip:Even with Stainless I smear a little dielectric grease or ACF50 over them but not in the hole.

As an FYI.Most Japanese Motorcycles use standard M10 1.00/1.25 pitch bleed nipples.Lengths can vary so you just have to get the right length ones if buying off say eBay.

There are also,"Easy Bleed" nipples if you fancy,

  • Perfect Solution To A Tedious Job
  • Replaces Existing Bleed Nipples
  • Various Thread Sizes Available
  • One-Way Valve Stops Air Re-Entering System
  • Quick And Easy To Use
  • Fit And Forget

The Goodridge 'Speed Bleeder' is the perfect solution for eliminating the tedious, time consuming and repetitive job of bleeding brake systems, by simply replacing the existing bleed nipples.
Their unique design incorporates a one way valve preventing air entering back into the system and eliminates the repetitive process of tightening and un-tightening...simply un-tighten the 'Speed Bleeder' 1/4 of a turn and pump the brake lever/pedal until the system is free of air and tighten!

I bought some years ago for my curvy. From a company called OEM but they seem to have gone now.

Do they not work / not fit, or is it just that they stick out too far?

I think mine were slightly longer but as long as there is enough thread to go into the calliper its fine. I seem to recall that the rear calliper on the curvey had a different thread pitch too.

Good point.I've slightly amended my post as some Japanese bike models use M10 1.25 pitch but you can't go far wrong with Wemoto and any doubts they are very helpful on the phone

Don't work, there's still a slight weep even when fully tightened.

I've emailed a couple of places to see if they can get me some measurements so I can compare before ordering.

That sounds like the taper or size of the business end is wrong, they shouldn't leak just because they're longer than necessary.

Have a look on Ebay for a company called Powerhouse. They specialise in calipers and refurbish them and do an exchange service. They also do all the parts and are quick to respond to messages. I have bought both S/S nipples and also a hanger (slide) pin from them for my SV650 SK3 rear brake (Nissin). Note that the nipple is slightly longer than the OEM part but the important part from the pointed end to the bleed hole is the same.
