Default Chain guard - stripped screw head

Hi, i'm looking for some advice folks. I've bought a rear hugger for my SV and need to remove the stock chain guard but have managed to ' strip ' the screw head on one of the 2 retaining screws and can't get the screw out now.

I wondered if anyone had any ideas on how to remove the stubborn wee sod !

Drill the head off, remove the chain guard and get hold of it with some decent mole grips

philips head or flat headed screw?

You could hammer a groove in the screw head so you can use a flat headed screw driver.

just resolved this myself, drill straight through the lot of it, then when fitting the hugger use a nut and bolt.

Vice grips on the screw head. I've used a hacksaw in the past to cut a groove in a stuck bolt....

Thanks for the tips, it's a Philips head, i've used a hacksaw to cut a groove i n the head and will try a flat headed screw driver ( need to buy a bigger one first ), failing that will go with option of drilling it out

cheers

They are a bit of a bugger as they never get touched and the steel and ally react.
