Default Spark plug as sump plug?

Went to the local bike shop today to get a new sump plug, but they don't have any. Once of the lads suggested using an old spark plug as a temporary fix. It's exactly the same thread and local Halfords don't have any suitable replacement sump plugs either.

Is it advisable to use the spark plug, if not, why not?

Cheers

what's up with the old one, will it not suffice for a few days till you can get a new one?, but if not, if it's the same thread it would do as a very temp repair imo needs must. No cancel that it's a fecking stupid idea, somebody must have one.

As long as it's the correct thread and seals ok I can't see why not, look a bit strange though

Having a 2" lug sticking out of the lowest point of your sump is something I'd be wary of. If you hit a bump and this catches it will tear / snap that part of the sump.

Just a thought.
