Default Angelsey track day death

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/wales/wal...cs/7971378.stm

Just had the wife on the phone in bits, it was one of her drivers from the last depot she worked at, apparently it happened in front of his mum and dad and best mate

From what the mrs had been told, he dropped the bike and the rider behind him swerved to avoid the bike and hit the rider, he died shortly afterwards from crush injuries, his dad was also a driver for the wifes firm and so was his brother, they both saw it happen, absolutley tragic, and I beleive it was a trackday not a meet, had a number of emails from the wife this afternoon, think this has really brough it home to her especially as she knew the lad, top bloke as well apparently, no one ever had a bad word to say about him

Oh no, really sorry to hear that. I race there very regularly so pretty close to home for me. The press report said it was near the medical center, thats the top section of the track I think up on the hill, I was wondering exactly where it happened.

Its pretty rare that anybody dies doing this sort of thing but it does happen. Motorcycle racing is a dangerous sport without a doubt, track days can be even more of a risk.

My thoughts are with his family. What a horrible thing to happen.

RIP

My thoughts are with the family, and also for the kid who was involved, it won't be a nice thing for him either...

Now what gets me
Quote:
According to its website bikers receive a full safety briefing before groups separate to have sighting laps and a session on the track. The groups then rotate sessions for the rest of the day.
Is it me or are these guys having a pop and a fish with this?

It really is likely to have been one of them things, wrong place at the wrong time...Though I wasn't there so cannot be sure. Mod's feel free to seperate my post into a new thread as it may spark a flaming for me, and a whole new discussion.
