Talking My 500 mile weekend.

List of crackin roads ridden this weekend in glorious sunshine.

A713 Castle Douglas to Dalmellington ***

A815 / A83 Dunoon to Arrochar ***

A814 / A817 Arrochar to Loch lomond *****

Duke's Pass **** (my 1st time - bit busy, german coach spoilt start)

A84 / A85 Callander to Oban *** (Some stretches *****)

A816 / A83 Oban to Inveraray *****

A714 Girvan to Newton Stewart *****

A712 Newton Stewart to New Galloway *****

Some might not agree with my star* ratings but you gotta agree of 520 miles travelled, most was spent on some of Scotland's finest. 1st weekend in October and wore Dark visor and summer gloves from Friday night till Sunday afternoon.

sounds good. you had a perfect weekend for it. some of those roads are crackers. Oban to Inveraray is superb if you can get it without bloody tourists.

If I had to choose just 1 to ride all the time - It probably would be Oban to Inverary. Absolute blinder of a road, just seems to go on and on and on.

I was out with my Brother -in-law and nephew, brought bikes up from Northampton in a van for the weekend, and they went out on the Sunday to do Glencoe and then down to do - Oban to Inverary again!

tell you what,, see when the sun went down on sunday i thought i was going to bloody freeze to the bike. my hands were nice and warm courtesy of my heated gloves but my feet were like blocks of ice. i also saw the first gritter of the year and got a good bloody peppering as it went past.

Maaaan so jealous! I wanted a run on the bike but due to having to watch my cat Saturday (no... really! Vets Friday, operation etc etc) and then playing football Sunday I didn't get the chance.

Had the feeling it was the last chance for good weather fun this year as well...

Couldn't believe it! We arranged the ride months ago and the weather turned out soooo good!!! Only time we got a few spots of rain was looking at the Falls at Killin, by the time we got to Lix toll - all dried up.

Saw that WRC Focus again and an Audi R8 this time - at Lix Toll Garage!!!!!!
