how many miles do you get out of yours?
Having decided to go and get some Dunlop Road smarts fitted onto my bike prior to my M.O.T on Saturday i was wondering what sort of mileage can i expect out of my new set of tyres. I do a daily commute of 36 miles a day from south to north London. I appreciate that the front will wear differently to the front as roundabouts and steering take their toll on more at the front end and any heaving breaking which driving in the city can happen a lot.

Re: how many miles do you get out of yours?
See my thread in this section. I reckon I'll get 6-7,000 miles out of mine at the current rate of wear.
It really depends on thetype oriding you do and what roads you use. I got 9,000 miles out of a set of Z6's but I know people who've only got 5,000 out of them on the same bike. So no one can give you a definitive answer.

It will all depend on how you ride and the type of riding. If through london, much like myself, then next to sod all. Well, about 5k for a rear.
If you do a lot of motorway constant throttle type work, then expect a lot more. I know of someone that got 12k out of an 020 but he mainly commuted on the A2 daily and that was on a Trupet RS |

Alarmingly, I've managed to get only 600 miles out of a Michelin Pilot Sport rear... in the wet... in the winter!
I'm amazed how quickly it's gone. C |

I got about 4000 out of a D220 on my SV, which wasn't much for something allegedly made off teflon.

Something badly wrong there.Id take it back as faulty.I got over 7000 touring miles out of a Pilot Sport rear on a ZX9.Even then it had a puncture and was not cost effective to repair.

What he does tell you is all the spinning up he does and rolling burn outs...i'd imagine.
And yes, 33f 36r (However, these are different form rider to rider, i Run 40 in my rear and 34 in the front) |
