Ok, I've just signed up - novice/inters as well. See you there Tim!

Yep! Mallory is quite a nice track - weird location, but nice! It was a sunny morning which the clouded over at lunch. Couple of spots of rain, but nothing to make it wet.

Started of in novices - mainly because I hadn't been to Mallory before, but I'm not going to do that again! First 3 sessions, was passing/lapping loads of people and getting really frustrated because I couldn't get any clear air. Decided to switch to inters for session 4 and wished I had done it sooner. Pace was way better matched and I picked up a lot more - seeing other people's lines, braking points etc. Gave me a much better benchmark. Only thing was some of the overtaking was quite aggresive and questionable! I guess everyone just wants to get some clear space as much as the next.

On the laps I timed I was doing around 1:05s - but I know I could make up time on the entry in to Gerrards and through the bus stop.

Good to meet Tim again - hope you had a pretty good day!

sounds like you were lucky with the weather!

I rather like Mallory, shame I couldn't make it. did they have the new chicane in on the exit of gerrards?

were you able to make sue of your new superbike school skills? I'm really hoping for a least a couple of dry sessions tomorrow at Rockingham to see what difference they make

Nope - it was old full on Gerrards! Pretty sweet corner.

Yep it was surprising how much more I think about stuff since CSS. I would say that all my skills, they taught are far from perfect. I don't think they can do that in 1 day, but it gives you stuff to work on. I could go out on a session and just concentrate on one thing, or one thing in one corner. Looking forward to going back!

Let us know how Rockingham goes today

Yep had a good time too, scrubbed in the new tyres nicely and had some good sessions. A good track with enough to keep it interesting, but easy enough to get to grips with.

The little SV again performed well, had a great dice with a GSXR 750 in the last session, we swapped places about 4 or 5 times, good fun going round the outside of him round Gerrards, a great corner. Need more speed on the straights though....
