as has been said/mentioned a couple of times lydden hill is BRILLIANT not just for your first TD, but for plenty afterwards as well. it's ideal for the sv ie. no long straights and then it doesn't have too many corners to remember/learn. it's where i did my first TD and i've been on to do snetterton and silverstone gp all on the sv too (i won't go to brands on principal, unless they drop their prices significantly).

It's cheap, but facilities are basic. By this I mean you're in a car park waiting to go out, if it rains, you stand in the rain mostly (Or at least that was the case last time I was there). Great fun and generally very competitively priced

I think in fairness they had a couple of porta-cabins and a mobile cafe there

One little bit of shelter that is closely fought over if it looks like rain....... and the burger van doesn't provide that much cover from anything! As Jambo says, cheap and cheerful. About £100 for the day and there isn't usually much waiting around as any stoppage can be cleared really quickly. I like it there but then I'm biased, I'm near enough to practically pit out of my own garage at home if it's raining.....

How about a novice day at Brands on the 13th June?

Thinking of signing up myself on my V-Strom!

Decided going to do 24th June No Limits Brands Hatch GP as my old man wants to do it on his GSXR and his mate has a CBR600 that wants to do it?

Be nice to see a few more SV's there

cool, just don't try and keep up with them too much, that's a sure way to crash if they're in your group and they've done TD's before!!

and then you'll end up crashing! trust me, been there and done it! if you can move to another group or if not, then try letting them go out first and you go out last. also try and get there early and try and get an insructor to go out with you in the first session (was free the last time i did a TD too!), was the best thing i've done!

Listen to this man. I've very rarely seen someone crash who was riding at their own pace. However, trying to out-do or keep up with another rider accounts for the vast majority of scraped leathers and smashed plastics.

It is, however, entirely down to you what you want to get from the day
