Re: Helmet Cams
I use a Drift Ghost, more appropriate as a helmet cam at slightly compromised quality ( specifically low-light ) compared to the previous GoPro.
Ghost S and the Hero 4 Black are basically the same for quality, Ghost S retains all the lovely features that make it more convenient though. Wrist remote, the screen, the form factor. Alternatively, Contour have their line, I don't believe it has been updated since they were bought out but they're equivalent to the previous generation action cameras ( Hero 3 & Drift Ghost ), the Contour Roam I believe? Best form factor, and a convenient laser to help pivoting it into the correct angle. |

Helmet Cams
If you are considering the kind of money for a hero 4 black, I'd recommend a drift ghost s, have one myself.
As LF says, it's a bit better design for a lid cam, more stream lined and subtle. Plus waterproof out the box. The screen is a handy feature too

Helmet Cams
Oh and if you do want to go a bit more adventurous in the water you can get a proper full on waterproof case for it which allows it to go down to some stupid depth I'm never going to see. I can't remember what and the figure I have in mind sounds stupid so I'll just leave it at that.

Re: Helmet Cams
I got one of those for Christmas, I found the best quality at 720/60fps (better than youtube upload quality), uses all the gopro mounts and the wifi allows you to use your phone as a view finder so when mounted on a helmet you can adjust for best image, and at forty odd quid it's not alot of money to spend on something I don't actually need.
