Default Hand Guards (for V-Strom but also fit SV650)

Bough them new from suzuki dealer last autumn and used them during the winter. The are a perfect fit on curveys and i'm pretty sure they fit pointys too.

The are great for keeping the wind blast off your hands.

I'm only selling them because i'm such a numpty with a screwdriver i still haven't sussed out how to remove and re-fit the bar end weights, and so its costing me £20 twice a year to have the local bike shop fit them for me in autum and remove them in spring. I'm sure anyone who can tell the difference between a screw dirver and a spanner would have no problems.

This year i'm going for bar muffs instead.

Was thinking of £20 posted.

Any offers?

I will have them off you at the end of the month if you happy with that? Though if really pushed I might be able to sort something...

After having my hands about frozen solid this morning I'd be interested in them too if Grinch doesn't take them?

Either way, any chance of some pics please?
Cheers
JM

I've not got many photos of them on the bike i'm afraid - although you can see them (sort of) in the thread about my new fuel exhaust (which might be up for sale soon too!)

http://forums.sv650.org/showthread.php?t=88908

Is that good enough for ya? I could also take a photo of them off the bike and mail it to anyone interested when i get home later. As Grinch has withdrawn his interest James you can have first refusal. Let me know if you want them.

Do they just screw onto the end of the Bars then? If there as simple as that I'll take them please! Thanks!

Yeah - its almost that simple. There are 2 attachment points.

One is the bar ends. The weights come off - a special spacer goes on,to hold the hand guard then the bar end weight goes back on the end and u got a longer screw to hold everything on.

The other attachment is on the brake / clutch leaver pivot. U get a replacement bolt which is sightly longer than the standard one to hold the other end of the hand guard in place.

Even i managed to do the second bit - its just the bar end expander thingy that has me baffled - i always seem to leave it inside the bar - and need help to get it out.

Anyways i've still got the instructions which are a bit oily but still readable.

I'll pm u my address.

I have probably missed out on these. Can you get these from suzuki separately?

I am planning on using the bike as much as possible this winter and have found heated grips not good at keeping the numbness away. (fine when i had a car)
