Default Honda documentary

Filmed in 1962 and sounding like Godzilla is just around the corner, a fascinating look at early Honda production. In Japanese unfortunately.

Old models: I saw a C100 (the first 50cc step through, they also made a C102 electric start), a Benly (C92 125cc or C95 154cc - the latter was my first bike), I also saw a CB72 250cc (possibly a CB77 305cc - they looked the same).
The owners manual I had for my C95 had adverts for Honda power tillers and other farm power tools.

Cool, I'll have a look at that. My dad had a 1965 CB77 for many years, some of my earliest memories were 'helping' him with maintenance in our shed, and riding pillion.

One time he'd finished working on the bike and took it up and down the road with just the downpipes fitted, no silencers. I can still clearly see the blue tongues of flame licking from the open pipes, and the warbling roar of the 180-degree twin. No wonder I ended up a biker

My first bike was a CB160 Honda. 4-speeds, pistons going up and down together, one set of points, centrifugal oil filter, and! double leading shoe front brake. Pretty good for its time, but my only Honda.

That was by turns interesting, surreal, and in parts like something from a film about some dystopian future!
