Default If you HAD to swap your bike...

Bit of fun.

If you had to swap your bike, but were allowed two others instead, what would you go for?

( * You're not allowed the same bike / model again as one of the two replacements. * You're not allowed to go for something really expensive just to sell it... you have to live with the new bikes and keep them).

Do the two new bikes have to 'add up' to the current value of my 99 SV? If that is the case ... I'm looking at a Chinese import s$#te scooter thats been razzed to death of some kind and a totally worthless 'basket case' as my two replacements! Haa.

No they don't . Although keeping it within realistic budget is advised. They are bikes you will need to use and service etc.

...but I don't want to lose my SV

Assuming you wrestled the SV from my hands and I surrendered the Zed, I'd go for something old (yes, I know that didn't work out so well last time) and something new.

The old: probably an air cooled Yam 2 stroke - R5 or RD350.

The new: I like the look/concept of the new Triumph Trident. It has about the right amount of power (for me) and its weight/size would fit me well.

Oooo, in that case ... BSA DBD34 Goldstar in clubman trim, and a 918 urban tiger Fireblade. Yeah... I know there's more exotic machinery out there but the blade would re-kindle an old flame and the Goldstar has been on my wish list forever, so ... for me ... my perfect 'two bike garage' .

Always admired the old Bonny - tweaked with modern bits (1)
Can I persuade a certain Allen Millyard to part with his Velo Twin? (2)

I don't ride the one I have now as much as I'd like to... If I was to change then I'd go for a comfy middleweight adventure bike like the CB500X for day trips and a simple scooter like a Forza 350 for popping to the shops. Yes, I know they're both Hondas.

I'd pick up a V-Strom 1000 and a VFR of some sort.

Current bike - Fazer 800

Replacements - Low mileage Fireblade 954 (or maybe an S1000RR) for fun, and a new VFR800 for comfort and practicality.
