2 weeks have gone since the safety camera van appeared in front of me as I went round a bend. Why do they have to park up so you don't see them till your 50yd away? Could it be something to do with the revenue stream?

No NIPs

Good news on your nips

Round here they're generally blatantly obvious and slap bang in the middle of a straight stretch. However, definitely a revenue stream as they're usually straight, wide pieces of road where in most conditions it's safe to do approx 5 mph over. Or a 40mph dual carriageway.

So this cheered me up yesterday. Here it is. The project. Looks ok from a distance. A bit grubby up close, but not bad overall and mechanically good apart from totally lacking front brake pads. It's set up really badly. Balance front to back is all wrong. Looks like the suspension has all just been cranked up as much as it can be with compression and rebound all set to destory the riders spine.

It'll be interesting to see how it does with a bit of fettling. It has a power commander hidden somewhere too and I think it might have been tuned by a home expert via interweb downloaded maps as it seems a bit rich and obnoxious.

Someone seems to have thrown away the baffle and the exhaust if ridiculous. Made worse by me not wearing earplus right now due to ear problems. The gearing has also been messed with and first is totally redundant. You have to pull away in second and it screams doing 50mph in 6th.

It does come with loads of trick bits though including Gilles rearsets, ASV levers (although shorties which I don't favour so they'll probably go) and way too much carbon tat and panels than is necessary.

Looks nice in that colour. I'll be interested to see how you get on with it.

Those engines will take a direct hit from a 30mm DU round, they are very, very strong. Have fun!

That looks quite nice Adam. Be interesting to see what results can be achieved with a spot of fettling.

Very nice. 636 is a bike I was once offered and didn't end up buying and always wondered about it. I still think they look good, probably better thna today's sportsbikes but maybe that's nostalgia!

I looked it up & after the initial confusion it raised a smile. Not sure how you can be so ignorant that it's a joke. Although they did look like lawnmower tyres to be fair

After filling up for the third time since March, I've realised I've done more miles on the bike than in the car this year, for the first in a long time most probably
