Well I went through about four scanners going to Vegas and didn't have any problems. They were just the low power hand baggage ones though. Hold luggage scanners will probably kill it.

I'm not convinced the Chinese do 'low power.'
Scanners and checks for all train and metro journeys too.
Last day in Chengdu today but too much smog and pollution to take any photos.

Yo. Sounds like you're having a great trip Yoko, aside from the smog. I've read a lot of mixed things about scanners these days, I'd put film in hand baggage though and even ask if they won't scan it (they can only say no). Read somewhere (Photo.net probably) that 400ISO is good for about 4 scans, 800 two, 200 8 scans and so on, but others in the same post saying they've never had a problem. So, God knows, you may just find out the hard way if it's okay or not. I think the fogging problem may hark back to older films and machines.

I saw that Minolta Kenzie, not many around and I think it sold, but maybe another will appear some day.

I think in America you can ask the TSA for a hand inspection. May slow things down a bit but will help save your film. Trying to tighten the purse strings on the cameras again. Winning to a point but its a fine line!

I'm sat in a Shanghai bar drinking locally brewed IPA. I think tonight, I took the most expensive photos ever. Went up the Shanghai tower, second tallest building in the world. Awesome views but for photos, disappointing. Foggy windows and too many inside lights reflecting off the glass. Got lousy images on my mobile. Set the om10 to 1/30 and f3.5 and hope. The lift up to the 120th floor is ear-poppingly amazing but £20 admission???

Oh. And I found some second hand camera shops. There was an Olympus trip for sale.
How much? I asked. One hundred and seventy pounds he replied.
Upon recovering from the shock, I smiled quietly to myself and thanked God for Kenzie and charity shops.
