Re: Trackday project K3
DOT 4 is absolutely fine.
Later ninja shock is longer, one with light gold spring.

Re: Trackday project K3
This weekend I have mostly been:
Spraying the forks, went for black to complement the gold wheels. I know the finish is not what you might call smooth, but when its dry it'll look like those matt black kettles you get. Which i prefer to shiny. And picked up this rather worse for wear looking beowolf end can. Has got some scrapes and dings but at least it saves me the worry of doing it myself! Jobs this week: Replace fork springs and oil. Clean up front wheel and drop both wheels at spray shop. Have beers on last day of work get together. Last edited by Redmist; 05-01-16 at 10:11 PM. |

Re: Trackday project K3
Then I'm glad your mam shares the excellent tastes of our house's previous owners!!
Anyway maybe she has the same cream / grease stained carpet as can be seen in this photo showing the test fit of the Goodridge braided hoses: (The box was soiled so it was necessary to check all parts were present, it seems they all are!) Last edited by Redmist; 05-01-16 at 10:12 PM. |

Re: Trackday project K3
Some more progress again tonight, the forks are back in situ after the springs and oil were swapped. Also back on are the brakes and clip ons, the brake lines are semi-bled using a syringe to reverse bleed and get something in the lines, to be finished once wheel is back on.
(It would seem I need to route the throttle cables correctly, looking at the pics again they should be coming up out the top of the grip not the front, oops)

Re: Trackday project K3
Another few hours on the project last night:
After some stripping back of more insulation tape I finally worked out which wires needed re-linking after the alarm removal, after which the fuel pump ran but we still had a FI error, 5 mins later and realising the tip over sensor was upside down, she fired up straight away! Put the front wheel back in after a clean up and bled the brakes again, needs some pclips for brake lines and the mudguard back on to be finished. AND after cutting off the helmet hooks from the subframe and a little fibreglass trimming, the gsxr seat in mock up position. I will aim to run the standard subframe for this season and then move onto a nice clean setup in future (Well thats the plan!) Still to do: 1) Beowolf end can swap 2) New chain and sprockets 3) Seat installation and electrics tidy up inc a battery box solution. 4) Test on some private land! 4) Trackday book!! Can anybody tell me a popular race battery?

I was advised by a forum member that this isn't a good change for the reason you mention. So I visited J&S in Bristol for a setup. They said the height was fine and they run even higher on their SV racers (albeit I imagine they use much better shocks). But other than bringing the preload down a notch I was told this wouldn't upset the handling much apart from improving turning sharpness. So interested to get some clarification and may help the OP to decide on rear shock setup. |

I heard non-original links aren't minitwin legal anyway so they'll probably come off again!
