Re: Win10
Just noticed mine pop up today as well. Oddly enough I was going to post the same question. My five year old HP tower unit may not be up to the job so I'll stick with 7 for the time being as it's happy enough running it and I'm happy using it.

Re: Win10
We're upgrading to win7 in the office as win8 and 10 are going to cost an arm to have legacy systems on

Re: Win10
I will. Been testing it out and it seems alright. Like win 8 for me, hated it on my test machine and then just thought screw it and installed it as my main one and got used to it. Faster than 7 .

Re: Win10
Get shot of XP LPH, there is no more security support for it now. You can buy a genuine Win 7 license for less that £30. I can send you a copy of win 7 to use for installation.
I shall be taking up the offer of free Win 10 on all my machines as long as they will run it. This is the last version of a paid for (for domestic users) numbered Windows OS. The next OS is just to be known as Windows, it'll be free and run indefinitely with monthly updates to keep it current in roughly the same manner as the Linux distros. |

Re: Win10
It's laziness and incompetence rather than financial on my part.

Re: Win10
I'll be upgrading but not right off the bat. Give it a few weeks for the first update to come out first. Fix the biggest problems.

Re: Win10
I'll be getting the free upgrade. I was interested in it anyway. What I want to know is, will I be able to do a clean install with it? I don't like the idea of installing it over my 7 install
