Default Rear Axle Marker thingy

Sorry, don't know it's proper name. I'm after a chain side marker thing (that lines up with the notches on the swingarm).

The previous owner has somehow managed to bend it so that when I tighten the axle nut it climbs up the side of the swing arm.

It's driving me wild when I'm adjusting my chain.

It's a K3 650s

Take it off and hammer it back to flat on an suitable flat surface. I did mine on the paving stones of my patio and it worked fine

+1

Mine bent and spun round on the swingarm because some numpty mechanic seriously overtightened the axle. Just hammer it flat and don't over tighten the nut

Confused here,

It looked ok when we put your rear wheel back on after the new chain & sprockets.

Remember 100Nm on that torque wrench

Well I gave it a good smacking and it was back flat, but it bent again....I'm only doing up the nut to the torque in haynes 100nm. Any suggestions?

Re did it (the chain not the sprockets) cos the ends of the swingarms were on the wrong sides - so they were loose and not flush with the swingarm.

So sayeth Mr Preston.

As the adjusters are not sided, and we never removed them it is difficult to see how they can be on the wrong sides. We also had to put them the right way round as initially the chamfers were on the inside on the RH one so a quick turn round needed. Don't say it must have slipped round as we were fitting the axle and I never noticed.

Don't think so, he actually changed which side they were on - so nothing to do with what we did.
Anyway, I've PM'd you.

Not the first time I've read this happening on a Pointy, seems a bit of poor design and an example of saving costs.
