Moral of the story, don't work until retirement age....up and sell what you can earlier and live somewhere cheaper, warmer and friendlier

Im sure my mates family and friends would rather have him work until his retirement, rather than dying.

Another bank holiday weekend spent recovering instead of riding.
However it's been cloudy and rainy the entire time so not missing quite as much.

If you can afford it, retire early. I worked for 6 months after I was 65 and 2 months later was diagnosed with prostate cancer. You've only got one life, so live it.

Sorry for your loss.
The positive is that if they died suddenly, I assume there was not an extended period of suffering; I've seen that with some of my relatives and I'd swap a lot for that not to happen.
Doesn't mean it's easy to deal with tho.

Unfortunately a tragic accident , very sudden and out of the blue. Just like one of my team 2 years ago.

sorry for my terse comment, its still sinking in.

like other folk have said you never know what's round the corner, so work to live, not live to work.

if you can get out early, do it, I cant see how my younger colleague's are going to work until they're 67. They certainly won't be doing what they're doing now.

Me I'm luckier, at least i can see the finish on the horizon.
