Bad news, sorry to read this. Hope that he heals fast.

Quick tip though, you really do not want him eating too many curries if you are going to have to provide personal care!

Once you know that he is safe and going to heal, go and give him a good telling off for scaring you like this and it will make you feel better to get the fear and stress out. Looks like he will be getting a Honda Melody for Christmas then!
Sending hugs XXXX

Thank you all so much for your kind comments and thank you even more to one or two of you for making me laugh at such a **** time Shell the hair one really made me lmao and the 14 foleys catheter...... well i`ve offered several times today and for some strange reason he swore at me!!!! but jeez have you felt the weight of a cardboard urinal after a man who hasn`t passed urine for 12 hours decides to have a pee

Unfortunately today has proved to be a challenge after battling for 5 hours to try and get nursing staff in a hospital plus registrars to understand the concept of pain relief I finally at 5pm tonight found a registrar who actually understood that no 10mg morpine IM is not enough to control bone pain and that oramorph actually has no ceiling dose so he can actually have it as often as he needs it for pain control. Glad to say I left him tonight almost pain free and with the nurses understanding how analgesia actually works.... thank god I no longer work in a hospital!

Even more unfortunately today has shown a much grimmer picture of his injuries. The break to his knee is worse than first thought and will now require surgery and potentially external fixators. He has broken both wrists and several bones to his left hand and lots of bones to his right hand which will require surgery but the surgeons aren`t sure that they`ll be able to repair the damage to his right hand and it may require amputation... I feel sick even typing that

How can this happen at around 20 mph???? he says that what actually happened was he was behind a woman in a BMW... a pedestrian crossing was ahead with nobody on it but the woman braked anyway so he naturally braked. She then sped up so he did but still at low speed but as she got onto the crossing she slammed her brakes on for no apparant reason. He grabbed a handful of brake but the rear wheel came up and actually flipped the bike over which then landed on top of him. She told the police it was her fault and she shouldn`t have braked but it`s probs one of those grey areas as he was behind her and surely insurance companies etc. would say he should have left enough space to brake safely.

Huge thank you again to everyone... taking the time to reply really does cheer me up no end so virtual hug to you all x
