"Highland Fling" 2011
I will be doing a wee tour of Scotland sometime at the end of May before the midges come out in force ----20/5/11--28/5/11 with the bank holiday weekend to recover on your return
Friday-----Evening ride up to Scotch Corner kip in T/Lodge 234 Sat-------Scotch Corner up the A68 Edinburgh ring road to Stirling 188 Sun-------Stirling,Balloch,wibbly wobbly,Inveraray,Lochgilphead to Oban 154 Mon-------Oban, Ballahulish,Invergarry to Kyle of Lochalsh Saucy Marys 122 Tues------K-of-L.,Achnasheen,Gairloch to Ullapool 123 Wed------Ullapool,Inverness,Forres,Grantown to Aviemore 120 Thurs-----Aviemore,Ft.William,Tyndrum,Aberfeldy to Pitlochry 163 Frid-------Pitlochry Aberfeldy,Lochearn,Crianlarich,Loch Lomond to Stirling 150 Sat--------Home James and don't spare the horses 451 ____ 1595 miles T/Lodge one night and Youth Hostels the rest. I am aware that this is just before the GM but I don't do large groups and like a warm bed at night without the plague of midges. Sat------- Sun------- Mon-------Oban, for drink b4 heading home Tues------ Wed------Meet at aviemore for dinner or at worst case breakfast Thurs-----Aviemore to Pitlochry 163 Frid-------Pitlochry Aberfeldy,Lochearn,Crianlarich,Loch Lomond to Stirling 150 Sat-------Make sure you leave bonny scotland Thats the best laid plan at present (updated)....
