Default Still Got A Misfire

Hi,

My bike is still misfiring every second or so. Carbs are balanced and cleaned, spark plugs are new and HT caps are clean. Any ideas what it could be????

Also, the idle shoots up to approx. 3000 revs when I put handle bars at full lock either way. Can't see anything catching...what do you think???

Could that be a stretching throttle cable?

Don't know. I checked everything was routed correctly and can't see anything wrong.

Can't help with the miss, if it goes away when the powers on then I'd leave it.

As for the full lock thing, have you adjusted the play in the cables properly? Loosening the cables a little so that the grip has 1/8" or so play in it usually gives enough room that it doesn't rev at full lock.
Just give it a little play on the adjusters under the twistgrip.

You been out in the wet or cleaned your bike? Could it be moisture in the front plug? You tried removing the front plug and using WD40 or the like in the hole then refitting the plug with a liberal coating of silicone grease?

Check the cable, sounds like it needs adjusting if it's not catching, either that or it needs lubing (check to make sure the cable runs freely in the tube.

If you route it differently then it usually needs adjusting, 2 minutes to do though.

Does it misfire on the power or just at idle?

99% on idle. Every now and again it'll pop when the power's on.

+1 on choke.

All Normski said above and also check cable junction. The section housing the cables to the carbs breaks of easily and can mean one or both cables not seating properly the in splitter housing.
