Re: BT sport coverage your reviews
I thought overall the coverage was good. Although most of the 5hrs of Sunday's broadcast was just a rehash of what happened on the Sat.
Sykes and Toseland, presenting. Ok I guess but there doesn't seem to be any real connection there. All seems a bit wooden. Could be nerves though so I guess only time will tell. Commentators imo was good. I couldn't stand Parrish. Jules knows his stuff and the other guy was pretty decent too. As for the down in the paddock, Hodgson did good i think. Yeah I know we have some great British talent on the grid but would have been great to see him interview Rossi or even Dovi seeing as it was his birthday. Early days but its on BT for the next 5 years so here's hoping it can only get better.

And Melanie Sykes is useless.

Re: BT sport coverage your reviews
I downloaded a torrent file of the broadcast and will be watching it later this evening. Very happy to find a torrent so easily because I will not subscribe to BT ever.

BT isn't your only legal option.

Re: BT sport coverage your reviews
Am I right to think that ITV4 show a delayed broadcast a day later? My workmate mentioned it the other day.

Re: BT sport coverage your reviews
You are, they did (highlights, anyway), and no, they don't.

Re: BT sport coverage your reviews
I'm not going to make any judgements based on a single race especially one where I wasn't particularly enthused with the camera work (which I don't think is related to BT)
The front of the race was great stuff granted, but It would have been nice to see a bit more of the other bikes (that said I'd also be whinging if they'd been showing Cal whilst overtakes were going on at the front, I want perfection goddammit!). There did seem to be a few technical hiccups with the sound and a couple of times with the picture but you never know where the fault for that lies and Melanie Sykes would have been a great idea for the female presenter, say 10-15 years ago. They should get a young girl who loves racing in to learn her stuff instead of someone who's clearly (well, seemed to me) just doing another job and not particularly interested. |

The commentators spoke a lot, but said nothing. I could have quite easily watched it without them and still known what was going on. Parrish/Cox combo were both fast commentators and "up-to-speed" with what bike has what etc. Then we get to Hodgeson.........Matt Roberts/Azi Farni both had a good rapport with all the riders and their team principals. Hodgeson has neither. And why did he keep touching the riders?!?! It was shocking. Ruined the race day for me. |
