Genuinely nice man to deal with too.
Was he Polish? Genuine question.
I only ask because I was quoted £400 to have a big dent sorted out.
Called at another garage to be greeted by a nice Polish guy who quoted me £80!
He was rammed with work but said he'd do it within the week, which he did, and a very nice job too!

Sign outside my local as I drove past this morning.

Pedestrians. This nearly went in the Gripe thread but in reality pedestrians make me laugh. When you're gently cycling down a town centre road and a headphone-and-hoodie-wearing ped' steps off a pavement into your path just a metre or so ahead of you a quick tinkle on the bell and avoiding action usually suffices. When the by now jolly startled ped' starts shouting obscenities at you for "not looking where you're going" I usually shout back to perhaps "practice what you preach" as I did this morning on my way back from the Post Office - one doddery old lady glared at me as if I were the devil for daring to be cycling on a road but I could see several other people laughing at the ped' for being a numpty. When another blind ped' crossed a cycle path in front of me a few minutes later without bothering to see if there were any cycles on it the same thing happened - this time I could hear a jolly sensible white van man laugh at the ped' telling him the different coloured tarmac, prolific blue signs everywhere, the outline of a bicycle painted on the ground and the warning sign right beside him were quite a clue as to his lack of intelligence quotient (albeit in a slightly more Anglo Saxon way). Brightened up my day a little.

Point me to this man forthwith! My BMW needs some tlc paintwise, and i don't mind rewarding good work even if i have to travel to get it done.

Seriously though, good tradesmen should be rewarded by recommendation.

(Un?)fortunately my elderly Raleigh commuter hybrid doesn't have the same sort of raspy bark to its exhaust to help let blind peds' realise I'm there. It's more of a wheezing permanently-out-of-breath type of noise...
