Anyone know how many canisters a stock front and rear tyre respectively take?

It's going to be at least 4 or 5 to get up to a vaguelly rideable pressure to (carefully) get to the nearset garage and top up a bit more.
For reference, road bicycle tyres get to 100psi with one. Mountain bicycle tyres need two to get to approx 60 psi and the volume of even the front SV tyre has got to be many times a MTB tyre.

found the kit that the AA guy used:
https://www.amazon.co.uk/STOP-DELUXE...ds=stop+and+go

obviously he had a larger compressor for adding air, but that should fit under the seat, right? :P

Looks like the 'DELUXE' kit has a mastic gun ratchet type mechanism to push the mushroom through (instead of the allen key and threaded plunger setup which takes up a lot less room) - that kit would never fit under the seat of my L7, I already had to separate the Co2 cartridges into a another bag to fit them in, as for fitting an electric compressor under there, you have two chances.

The deluxe kit looks more like it is for a car or other vehicle where there is plenty of room to stow stuff.

I read reviews of the Stop&Go kits and some people have had mushrooms in the tyre for several thousand miles or until they have to replace tyre.

I have a Tiptop plug kit under my seat which I have never used, but in my Piaggio X9 being on cross ply tryres I was using Ultraseal. Rear tyre once had 8 punctures I hadn't even noticed... Ultraseal gets a bit expensive if you ride a lot.
