What have you tinkered with today?
I have fitted some new renthal soft compound grips to replace to hard heated grips which let through a lot of vibes. New grips are superb and I do recommend them to anyone thinking about new grips. Cheap too, only about £7.50.
Also given some bar end mirrors a go as they too were cheap. They are much better than I expected although it is a little odd having to move your head instead of just an eye movement. Also massively improves the aesthetics imo. |

Re: What have you tinkered with today?
My front brakes where dragging a little so I took the wheel off and gave the calipers and pistons a good old clean. While I was at it i've replaced the caliper bolts, mudguard screws, pinch bolts, tank cover screws with Ti replacements. I've also ordered Ti replacements for the front brake disc bolts, rear disc bolts, sprocket nuts, and suspension linkage bolts. Fitted the GiPro too

Sorted the 2nd VF1000F, now running properly and idling. Carb balance, and decide if i sell or keep.

Re: What have you tinkered with today?
Got these bits to get fitted, powdercoater has covered the machined section that the calipers mount to. Should I remove it or just bung the calipers on there? Last edited by gt900uk; 13-03-15 at 06:29 PM. |

Re: What have you tinkered with today?
You might need to ream out various holes with a drill bit or a tap if threaded. They do tend to get clogged.

Re: What have you tinkered with today?
All the threads are good as we discussed covering everything including the machined caliper mounts. Obviously just forgot about those but not sure how much of an issue it will be.
