I better steer clear of my local KTM dealership for some time, the Adventure 1190 is just around the corner and this thing is looming too, oh the temptation!

I really do need a new sofa, washing machine and TV........mmmmmm, actually the sofa isn't that bad, the washing machine still spins just and the TV has a picture lol

I've been trying to work out what bike to buy next and I've narrowed it down to two, both KTMs! It's either an RC8 or a 990SMR. To be honest I'd like both, the RC8 for track days and the SMR for general hooliganism

Sell your soul and buy both.

@Deltron, get the SM to begin with and go from there, I think you'll probably forget about the RC8 after a while

I very nearly justified a non-R RC8 when they were selling new for 8K, but now there are only R versions (track or road based) and they are a little bit more...awesome bike but it would just be a trophy bike for the most part, atleast with an SM you will use it all the time, it's a versatile bike, especially the SMT due to bigger tank range, luggage options and half fairing

The 2013 SMT, available on finance , comes in a new fancy paint job with that trademark orange, or so the rumours are suggesting:

I'm not looking to buy new - I'd rather someone else take the depreciation hit when they ride it out of the dealer forecourt! You can get a low mileage RC8 for under £6k now - quite a few people are selling up to get an RC8R.

To be honest, practicality doesn't really come into it for me. I've got a car for shifting stuff and I work from home so no commuting...
