Bee in the helmet
Went out bug splatting at lunch and got more than what i paid for.
Started to get a bit hot on the neck with the sun behind me and inside my helmet so i pulled the visor up but still had my sun visor down, forgot i had the main one up. Then a few minutes later bimbling along and a bee runs into my helmet hits my sun visor and drops down, i thought it dropped off because i forgot i had the main one up, the next thing i feel him on the balaclava and hear the buzz. Oh my life i have never been so scared in my life, i slammed the anchors on and undid my helmet so quick. I have had a bad experience with a bee when i was 9 and never been friendly since. Anyone else had a bad/worse experience with their visor up? |

Re: Bee in the helmet
Ouch! I've had a wasp inside my textiles before now. Luckily it only decided to sting me once I'd already stopped (for petrol).
Worst experience I've had with wasps was when sailing, I came ashore to find 2 of my mates had accidentally trampled the nest. The air was thick with them and lots got under my cag and stung me all over. My left arm was numb and I lost fine control of it for about 20 minutes. I've never had a problem with Bees. |

Re: Bee in the helmet
I had a wasp in the lid once. Just opened the visor and it got sucked out.

Re: Bee in the helmet
That sent shivers down my spine
I don't get on well with bee/wasp stings and to have one in my helmet.... I would just panic, crash and die! |

Re: Bee in the helmet
I had one hit my uncovered adams apple once at bout 60mph. Bad times.
I also jumped on a wasps nest in a big pile of cut grass when I was a kid, got stung all over my face and neck. More recently I got stung in London, £2.00 for a can of Coke!!! |
