Thank you.

Dave was a Merseyside Officer, but the thought is greatly appreciated.

Fog lights when visibility is in excess of 100 meters.
No need
Rule 226
You MUST use headlights when visibility is seriously reduced, generally when you cannot see for more than 100 metres (328 feet). You may also use front or rear fog lights but you MUST switch them off when visibility improves (see Rule 236).

Rear foglights when there is no fog and there is a steady stream of traffic doing no more than 40.

To be fair they probably don't even realise they don't work in fog...

Look these aren't fog lights, they're showing the car has its forcefield on & its operational.

"I suppose you're going to blame an accident for being late home from work?"

Would make sense to me as it caused the motorway to be blocked.

Gotta say after driving home from Watford yesterday I never want to see another bl00dy fog light again... I think 90% of the time they are used incorrectly, and at night they are a complete PITA!!!

And on that note FOG!

I have been riding in about 5m of visibility this week. My ride to work consists of areas where I often ride through cloud even on reasonably clear days so my journey at the moment is well and truly fogged...

I smile to think of a (at the time) family friend tax inspector, who used to take turn with my parents to drive for Saturday nights out.

He was a PITA for turning on his high intensity rear lights. One day mr Plod stopped him and advised him of the law. Compliant he turned them off and drove off. Unknown to him, Mr plod was a couple of hundred yards behind when a mile down the road he turned them back on again.

The resulting stop was not for words of advice...
